Eucharistic Visitors Ministry

The ministry of the Lay Eucharistic Visitor is to provide the sacrament to those who are hospitalized, homebound, and in nursing homes. Eucharistic Visitors (EVs) are sent forth from the altar each Sunday as an extension of the Sunday morning services. Those who are home bound or hospitalized become a part of weekly worship. The priest prays near the end of the service for the Eucharistic Visitor and those with whom they visit and serve:

In the name of this congregation, I send you forth bearing these holy gifts, that those to whom you go may share with us in the communion of Christ’s body and blood. We who are many are one body, because we all share one bread, one cup.
