Youth
The Youth Forum
Faith formation is a lifelong process, as we individually and corporately seek to come nearer to God in prayer, study, service, and fellowship. At Christ Church, we strive to walk with young people on their journeys from childhood to adulthood, recognizing their gifts for ministry, their questions about spirituality, and their desire to make a difference in the world. Generally, middle and high school youth meet in the Youth House on Sunday mornings at 10:15 for a discussion of the day’s scripture and how it applies today, led by the Director of Youth Ministries. During the summer, the Youth Forum meets in the Westbury Hall dining room.
Youth Group

Confirmation
Youth Confirmation classes are held on select Sunday afternoons beginning September 29th and conclude in early May.
According to the Book of Common prayer, Confirmation is a rite in which the candidate, “expresses a mature commitment to Christ, and receives strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.”
In Confirmation, baptized persons are “confirmed” in the Christian faith with the laying on of hands by a bishop. This is a service where we ask the Holy Spirit to bless those who come forward to reaffirm the faith they professed in Baptism. When Baptism promises were made on behalf of young children by parents and godparents, confirmation serves as an individual’s personal declaration of faith in God and an offering of life to God’s will and a commitment to life within the community of Christ, not only at Christ Church but around the world. Confirmation is a time of exploration, discovery and commitment which will require participants to grow in community with God and each other as well as engage in the life of the Church.
