Children’s Christian Formation

We believe that fostering the spiritual development of our children is just as important as fostering their physical and mental development. In everything we do, we seek to honor their unique experience of God, and give them the tools they need to explore the possibilities of faith in their own lives. Children’s Formation classes are for children age three – fifth grade. We meet on the second floor of the Formation + Arts Building on Sundays from 10:15 – 11:00 a.m. Children are welcome to join our activities at any time during the year. During formation, there are several options for parents, including the Community Circle for Parents and the Clergy Forum. Have questions about any of our programs for kids? Please contact Amy Schmitt.

Leaders in Children’s Ministry often find serving to be a meaningful spiritual practice which deepens their own faith. There are currently openings for additional adults and high school students on our leadership team. Curriculum, training, and all supplies are provided. If you are interested in serving, please contact Amy Schmitt.

Love First Vacation Bible School

Christ Church hosts a unique week of vacation bible school each summer, using a program we developed calle Love First. At Love First VBS, children discover that:

  • All people are lovable in the eyes of God, no exceptions (Love Self).
  • I am called to love and care for people in need (Love Neighbor).
  • I can see and feel God’s love in my life (Love God).

Bible stories, games, crafts, and music, help curious kids learn more about faith and connect with one another. This fun and inspiring week is made possible by the service of youth and adult volunteers.
