Agreement 1: Speak Lovingly -
It only takes one little negative word to ruin someone’s day. So let’s not cut each other down, but build each other up! /
Agreement 2: Treat the Youth House like a Sacred Space -
The youth house is part of the church, and is a church in and of itself. Lots of love and care has been put into creating this space for you. Please throw away trash, cleanup spills and refrain from throwing objects in (or at) the youth house. /
Agreement 3: One Mic, One Diva -
When one person is talking during a discussion, everyone else should be listening. Not only should you listen to your leaders, but also your peers. Nothing makes someone feel more special than listening to what they have to say. You have two ears, and one mouth so that you can listen more than you speak. /
Agreement 4: Vegas Rule -
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. When someone shares something personal in youth group, please don’t spread it around outside of youth group. /
Agreement 5: Be yourself, and celebrate others -
We want you to be 100% fully who you are – the way God made you and loves you. We want to celebrate everyone. We have lots of different kinds of youth hanging out in our youth group from different backgrounds and places. If someone is different than you – celebrate that, don’t mock it. /
Agreement 6: Have fun! But make it fun for everyone -
Youth group is supposed to be meaningful and FUN. Lots of youth come to youth group for lots of reasons. Maybe you like games more than the lesson. Maybe you like the lesson more than the games. Maybe you’re just here to hangout. But make sure you are participating in everything in a way that makes it fun for everyone and doesn’t just suit the experience you want to have.
