We are fans of the television show The West Wing. In an episode the president learns of the North Korean word “Han” and describes it as “a state of mind / of soul really, of sadness. A sadness so deep no tears will come, and yet still there is hope.”

This year has been such a year for so many of us. And yet as we arrive at the day of the year with the most hours of darkness, as a Resurrection people we look toward the light of the world. He will arrive in just a few days. He is hope! Alleluia!
